Demographics

The registered population of the Miami metropolitan area is approximately 5 million people, of which 60% are of Hispanic origin.

Electricity and Plugs

Plugs in Miami have two flat prongs, and if you're coming from Europe, Australia or New Zealand you will need an adaptor. The voltage in the USA is 110V, and although these days almost all products are compatible, it's a good idea to make sure before travelling.

The officil time zone in Miami is GMT-5 or GMT-4 in summer.

Opening Times

The opening times of shops in Miami is, generally, from Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 9 pm. In the more touristic areas such as Ocean Drive, it's possible to find shops open as late as midnight.

Malls have similar opening times, they open from Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 9:30 pm and on Sundays they normally stay one or two hours later and close around 8 pm.
